In Motion are an emerging alternative rock band from Newcastle, New South Wales. Formed early in 2014 as a creative outlet for their teenage angst, the three piece have worked on writing their own original material drawing inspiration from current day bands such as Kingswood and Royal Blood with early Soundgarden and Led Zep influences also coming through. By melding hook-filled melodies with hard and heavy beats, In Motion manage to inject this vast array of influences into their sound.
In the beginning, due to their tender ages, they gained experience where they could performing live at all age gigs and band comps with great success. In 2014 they came away winners of Hunter High School Rock Off which gave them the opportunity to support In Hearts Wake. In 2015 they spread their wings to Sydney and came away winners of Youth Rock (past winners include Silverchiar, Alex Lloyd & Hayley Warner). More recently they took our the Passport to Airlie Music Festival & Newcastle Battle of the Bands crowns.
Since finally all coming of age, they’ve concentrated on playing live venues around Newcastle & Central Coast such as The Cambridge, Great Northern, Stag & Hunter, Lass O' Gowrie & Coast Hotels supporting acts such as Band of Skulls, British India, Lepers & Crooks and Rackett. Plus festival spots at Pigsty in July, Springfest II and Airlie Beach Music Festival.
April 2016 saw the release of the first single ‘My Kind of Woman’ off the EP. Recorded at Mainstreet Studios in Wollongong by Adam Jordan (Nick Oliviri - QOTSA, The Vanns, The Choirboys) and mastered by Tony ‘Jack the Bear’ Mantz (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kisschasy, Something for Kate); the end result is a strong, riff-heavy sound that sits deep in the pockets of the rhythm section with a powerful vocal to match.
After a successful EP launch in June at The Lass
O’ Gowrie Hotel in their hometown of Newcastle, In Motion plan to continue to promote their EP with gigs locally, in the Sydney market and beyond. More originals are in the works and plans are to head back into the studio in the near future to record their second release.... See MoreSee Less

Five guys that just have fun making sounds.
Started out as a Tuesday arvo jam session with Drummer Grant Brooks and Bass Player Cameron Judd learning a few tunes back in 2013. Shortly after Brooksy asks his neighbour Troy Reeves Rhythm, Harmonica and Vocals to see if he would be interested in having a few beers on Tuesday arvo and playing a few tunes. Within 6 months Mick Cockrem, Lead Guitar and David Gardiner Vocals, Lead, Rhythm Guitar and anything else he wants to do because he is the talented one, had joined the arvo sessions as well. All sharing a love of the ocean, an appreciation of beer and passion for just having fun while making music has made for a very relaxed band that clearly have fun every time they get together....
